Poseidon Resources Announces New CEO

Carlos A. Riva has been appointed to the position

Carlos A. Riva has had a distinguished career as president or CEO of a number of major infrastructure companies, including J. Makowski Co., Intergen, Amec Group Ltd., and most recently Verenium Corp.  He holds engineering degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University, as well as a degree from Harvard Business School.

Riva joins Poseidon at the culmination of the company’s 50-million-gpd project in Carlsbad, Calif. Another 50-million-gpd project in Huntington Beach, Calif., is in the final permitting stage and is expected to reach financial close in 2012.  The company’s development pipeline includes additional seawater desalination projects in California, Texas and Florida.
