Pentair Water/Fleck Selects WQA as Primary Softener Certification Labratory

Pentair Water/Fleck, a company specializing in the movement, treatment and storage of water, are further clarifying their relationships with the NSF and Water Quality Association (WQA). In February 2007, they announced the shift of certification laboratory from NSF to WQA.

WQA will be Pentair Water/Fleck’s main certification laboratory for softeners listed to ANSI/NSF 44. WQA’s laboratory is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and is accepted by the states of California, Iowa, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Iowa and all other states requiring ANSI/NSF 44 listing for water softeners.

As their ANSI/NSF 44 certifications for each water softener expire, they will re-qualify those systems to the same standard using WQA’s laboratory. This shift to WQA is an effort to provide customers with lower testing costs lower annual fees, and promptness in updating certifications.

In the future, any customers wishing to continue using SNF, UL or any other non-WQA laboratory will be responsible for working directly with that laboratory for certification while accepting any dues and testing fees required by that laboratory to maintain certification.
