Council will meet in Seattle May 27-28

During a two-day meeting later in Seattle later in May, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) will review agency updates on revising the Total Coliform Rule (TCR), regulating geological sequestration of greenhouse gases and finalizing the Aircraft Drinking Water Rule.

The American Water Works Association and other stakeholders recently struck a rulemaking agreement for the revised TCR, and EPA’s Science Advisory Board (SAB) will review technical analyses to support the revision.

The SAB Drinking Water Committee will have a teleconference May 20 to plan a face-to-face meeting in Washington, D.C., on the requested review, scheduled for June 9-10.

The NDWAS meeting, scheduled for May 27-28, will also review efforts to help the water sector improve its resiliency to possible effects of climate change.

One hour of the two-day meeting is reserved for public comments. May 22 is the deadline for requesting time on the schedule or for submitting statements.
