Nalco Acquires Res-Kem and General Water

Company expands equipment solutions in U.S.

Nalco, providing expertise for water, energy and air, announced the expansion of its water pre-treatment services and related specialty equipment capabilities with the acquisition of Res-Kem Corp. and General Water Services of Philadelphia.

"Res-Kem and General Water Services are leading regional suppliers of water treatment services and equipment, including deionized water," said Dave Flitman, Nalco senior executive vice president and president, water and process services. "This builds on our Crossbow Water acquisition last year in the Midwestern United States, expanding our specialty equipment and pre-treatment services capability that adds to our chemistry, onsite consulting service, automation and monitoring and control technologies."

Res-Kem's core operations include portable deionized water services, reverse osmosis membrane cleaning, preventative maintenance/troubleshooting and media and resin/media rebed services. Additionally, the equipment design/build capability includes softeners/filters/dealkalizers, condensate polishers and specialty ion exchange systems.
