Software has new features to help wastewater engineers and planners develop better designs

MWH Soft, a global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, has announced the worldwide availability of the V7 Generation of its InfoSWMM for ArcGIS (ESRI, Redlands, Calif.).

InfoSWMM, a full-featured urban drainage network analysis and design program, delivers the highest rate of return in the industry, and is the world’s first urban drainage modeling solution certified by the National Association of GIS-Centric Software.

All operations of a typical sewer system—from analysis and design to management functions such as water quality assessment, pollution prediction, urban flooding, real-time control and record keeping—are addressed in a single, fully integrated geoengineering environment whose powerful hydraulic computational engine is endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and certified by FEMA.

V7 features a host of unique new capabilities to help wastewater engineers and planners develop better designs and operational improvements faster and more efficiently. They include an intuitive, time-saving user interface and impressive graphics; greatly accelerated creation of better, more accurate models; and more advanced design analysis capabilities.

Key new modeling tools include a fully automated dual-drainage modeling, the ability to specify different infiltration methods for different subcatchments within the same model, comprehensive energy consumption and pumping cost analyses, a more refined method for calculating the flow across a bottom orifice at low heads, a PID type real-time modulated control and faster computational speed. The program also features automatic switching to the largest possible hydraulic simulation time-step for dry weather conditions, enabling very fast processing of these conditions with no loss of accuracy.
