RJN Group To Provide Services to the Village of Arlington Heights

Combined sewer flowmonitoring project to take place during the spring months

RJN Group Inc. was selected in March by the village of Arlington Heights, Ill., to provide flowmetering services in the village’s combined sewer system.  RJN has installed 30 flowmeters and two rain gauges throughout the village’s combined sewer system. The flowmeters and rain gauges will be collecting data on dry weather and spring rain events for at least two and a half months.

As a vertically-integrated engineering and field services firm, RJN will be maintaining the flowmonitoring equipment for the duration of the project and will provide collected and summarized data to the village. This is the first phase in the village’s overall program to model the combined sewer system and develop recommendations to alleviate various flooding issues during wet weather events.

The village of Arlington Heights’ combined sewer system area discharges into the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s (MWRDGC) “deep tunnel” system through connections near Melas Park in the southeast corner of the combined sewer area.
