Sixth annual WSI conference and expo slated for October 2 to 4 in Las Vegas

Kim Marotta, vice president for corporate social responsibility at MillerCoors, will deliver the keynote address at the opening session for the 6th Annual WaterSmart Innovations (WSI) Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 2.

The largest urban-water efficiency event of its kind, WSI is slated for Oct. 2 to 4, 2013 at the South Point Hotel and Conference Center. “Early bird” conference registration of $330 is available until June 1; afterward, full conference registration will be $390. As director of sustainability at MillerCoors, Marotta is responsible for driving, implementing and managing the company's sustainability strategy and responsibility initiatives. She works closely with the company’s parent organizations, SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Co., to drive performance in these key areas. In 2012, Molson Coors was recognized as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index world beverage sector leader, for which MillerCoors was a strong contributor.

Prior to joining MillerCoors in 2004, Marotta practiced law for more than 13 years, specializing in criminal defense, and served as an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School. She was recognized by The Milwaukee Business Journal as one of the top “40 Under 40” community leaders, and by Triple Pundit as one of “The 25 Hottest Sustainability Professionals.”

Also at this year’s conference, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense Program, in conjunction with the Alliance for Water Efficiency, will present the WaterSense Awards at a luncheon Thursday, October 3.

Last year’s WSI drew about 1,000 attendees from 35 states and the District of Columbia, and from seven foreign nations. The conference features more than 100 comprehensive professional sessions in a variety of tracks, and an expo hall highlighting a wide array of water-efficient products and services.
