Badger Meter Technology Wins Innovation Award

May 1, 2014
BizTimes Media recognized Badger Meter for its cellular-based metering solution

Badger Meter will receive a BizTimes I.Q. Award for Innovation from BizTimes Media LLC. The company is being recognized for its Beacon advanced metering analytics (AMA) managed solution. The technology was launched January 2014.

The I.Q. Awards salute Southeastern Wisconsin businesses for innovative products, services or processes. Badger Meter will receive its award on Wednesday, May 21 during a ceremony at BizExpo, Wisconsin’s largest business-to-business conference.

The technology combines Beacon AMA hosted software suite with proven Orion advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technology using fixed and cellular networks to give utilities greater control, more information and enhanced customer service. Two-way communication provides utilities with information and analytics, without the time and expense of managing their own fixed network system. The managed solution approach includes built-in infrastructure management services and endpoint upgrades, eliminating maintenance and technology concerns.

“On behalf of the Beacon AMA team, it is an honor to be recognized as a 2014 BizTimes I.Q. Award recipient. This solution is a testament to Badger Meter’s commitment to research and development, and our desire to provide utilities with a better solution to collect and analyze their data,” said John Fillinger, director of utility marketing for Badger Meter.
