Companies will introduce high efficiency water treatment to Japan & East Asian markets

Desalitech and Japan-based Toyo Eng. Corp. announced the formation of a strategic partnership to introduce environmentally responsible and economical water and wastewater treatment solutions to Japanese, East Asian and international markets. The partnership agreement was signed in Tokyo, Japan as part of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s Massachusetts – Asia Innovation Partnership Mission.

The collaboration between Desalitech and Toyo will bring Closed Circuit Desalination (CCD) reverse osmosis (RO) solutions to East Asian and other international markets to increase water recovery, improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact and reduce disposal costs.

“Global water challenges increasingly impact our health, economy and quality of life,” said Nadav Efraty, CEO of Desalitech. “Desalitech’s CCD-RO solutions provide the highest performance and the greatest flexibility to treat challenging water sources reliably and economically. With our respected and capable partner, Toyo Eng., we are working to make pure water safe, abundant and affordable for all.”

Desalitech’s CCD systems are able to achieve recovery rates of 93% or greater, producing less waste and resulting in lower disposal costs. Desalitech CCD solutions require less energy than conventional RO water treatment systems, reducing carbon footprint. Furthermore, CCD systems are capable of extracting purified water from challenging sources and adjusting to highly variable water conditions.

“Our goal is to reduce our customer's water and energy footprint while increasing process reliability and flexibility,” said Toyo Senior Executive Officer Kumar Akhilesh, infrastructure business unit director. “This combination of better performance and greater environmental responsibility is important for Japanese and global markets.”
