The innovative CONTRAFAST clarifier is a high-rate sludge thickening clarifier/softener that combines clarification and sludge thickening in a single operation and has a footprint that’s 25–50% smaller than that of a conventional clarifier alone. In addition, the CONTRAFAST unit produces sludge with greater than 20% solids by weight. Package units are available with nominal capacities of 175, 350, 700 and 1,400 gpm. Custom units can be designed to accommodate virtually any size or flow rate.
