Ted Whiton has been appointed Executive General Manager – USA at GHD, one of the world’s leading professional services companies. Ted has more than 20 years of experience with GHD including his most recent role as Regional General Manager – US West and member of the United States Leadership Team.

With a background in environmental engineering and vast experience in municipal and wastewater infrastructure, Ted worked with private and public sector clients in the integrated water management and environmental market sectors. He brings to this role considerable experience leading growth and collaborating across the GHD global business to create value for clients and opportunities for employees.

According to Whiton, “This is an exciting time for GHD in the US. We’re seeing tremendous growth opportunities across our key market sectors of water, transportation, and environment. This growth will be further supported by the US Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act which is shining the spotlight on projects that GHD is uniquely qualified to design and manage.”

In Whiton’s new role, he’ll manage GHD’s operations across the company’s five regions across the US.

“We have a renewed focus on our behaviors, social values and environmental footprint because of the pandemic which is creating an increased demand and appetite for change in our society. GHD recognizes the urgent need to ensure water, energy and our communities are made sustainable for generations to come. I and our talented US team are eager to continue working with our clients to achieve this vision.”

Whiton’s predecessor, Ivar Skavdal, will serve in an advisory capacity working with clients, projects, and other initiatives.
