GE & Septech Partner to Provide Mobile Water Solutions to the United Arab Emirates & Oman

Collaboration brings quickly deployable water solutions

GE Water & Process Technologies and Septech have announced a 20-year, multi-million dollar agreement that will help the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman meet their growing water needs. Due to an increase in population, infrastructure and energy demands, pressure on fresh water supplies is growing at an unprecedented rate throughout the region. Leveraging GE’s mobile water treatment systems, Septech will be able to rapidly respond to the region’s mounting water needs.

Under the recently signed agreement, Septech, a water infrastructure and specialized engineering firm, has purchased a fleet of rapidly deployable GE Mobile Water Treatment Systems. The Septech-GE collaborative will provide regional industrial, municipal and infrastructure customers with a portfolio of solutions capable of meeting virtually any water, wastewater and process water need.

“Whether it’s an emergency, supplemental or extended water need, our mobile water systems deliver solutions that meet virtually any customer requirement,” said Ralph Hadley, general manager, Middle East and Africa for GE Water & Process Technologies. “This is yet another example of how GE continues to partner with industry leaders to drive growth and meet customers’ most pressing water needs.”

The fleet, which will be owned by Septech and serviced by GE, is easily deployable, able to meet the most stringent regulatory requirements in the world and can operate independently of a power source. Housed in 12-meter (40-ft) mobile containers, the units can treat brackish, salt and wastewater; and can produce up to 1,000 cu meters of pure water per day.

Septech will operate the fleet in three major service patterns: emergency situations for immediate service of periods from one to 30 days; short-term scenarios ranging from one to 12 months; and remote/off the grid situations.
