FKI Logistex and Koroberi Receive 2007 Outstanding Material Handling and Logistics Content Award

Nov. 16, 2007

FKI Logistex, a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, and Koroberi, Inc., a business-to-engineer integrated marketing firm, announce that they have received the 2007 Outstanding Material Handling and Logistics Content Award for their joint white paper "RFID for the Real World: Challenges and Opportunities in the Warehouse & Distribution Center Environment." The biannual award, developed by the College-Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) and presented by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), recognizes FKI Logistex for outstanding educational content related to material handling.

The FKI Logistex/Koroberi white paper, which won first place, was judged based on its educational value, clarity of presentation and contribution to the material handling industry. The paper received the contest's highest score after a team of four industrial and academic experts evaluated industry content published between Jan. 1, 2005, and Dec. 31, 2006.

Jerry Koch (pictured), product director, software and controls, FKI Logistex North America, accepted the award at the 2007 MHIA Annual Membership Meeting in Savannah, Ga. "This award confirms that FKI Logistex is a leader in the integration of RFID technology with material handling systems," said Koch. "We are honored to receive this award, which we believe is a strong indicator of our excellence in improving and advancing material handling solutions."

"RFID for the Real World," published in 2005, evaluates the challenges and opportunities presented by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Identifying longer read range, dynamic data storage and greater information storage as RFID's advantages, the white paper presents statistics demonstrating that RFID technology can cut inventory costs by 55 percent. It concludes that through careful investment and gradual adoption, companies can implement RFID to improve efficiency and lower costs.
