Registration for the 2018 International Erosion Control Association Region One (IECA) Annual Conference and Expo is now open. The conference, which brings thousands of erosion and sediment control and storm water management professionals together each year, will be held Feb. 11 to 14, 2018 in Long Beach, California at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
Recently rebranded from the Environmental Connections Conference, the IECA Annual Conference and Expo is the signature event for IECA and the erosion and sediment and storm water management industries. This one-of-a-kind conference provides optimal training from over 100 sessions including pre-conference sessions, industry roundtable sessions and fireside chats that allow attendees to get their professional questions answered by industry experts and learn what changes are coming in the industry. Construction and regional track sessions round out a comprehensive conference schedule.
“We’ve retained popular session formats like the fireside chats and industry roundtables from last year’s event and have added new options that will provide career-changing education,” explained Sharan Wilson, IECA Executive Director. “We’ve opened up new training opportunities to all conference attendees through our new contractors’ corner to allow all attendees the opportunity to sample our educational offerings and earn four professional development hours.”
Additional IECA Annual Conference and Expo highlights include:
- Closing Keynote, Andrew Wright – will provide an “inside the beltway” presentation on the environmental agenda of the President Trump administration and Congress. Wright will explain the current political climate, why it’s happening and explain what attendees can do to influence the process.
- New Contractors’ Corner – is designed especially for contractors, sub-contractors and installers to learn about compliance, erosion and sediment control, site stabilization and site monitoring. This new training is available to all attendees.
- Regional Industry Overview – from the western region’s drought to storm water discharges in 2010-1017, this track offers a snapshot of regional issues featuring top local thought leaders presenting papers, case studies and workshops to provide insight on how to handle the area’s toughest environmental challenges.
