EPA Awards $582,000 Grant to Buhler, Kan.

Funding to upgrade drinking water system

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $582,000 to Buhler, Kan., to upgrade its drinking water system.

"EPA is committed to helping Kansas communities get safe, clean water," said EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks. “These water infrastructure funds will partially fund the construction project, which is estimated to cost $1.2 million.”

The purpose of the project is to construct new equipment to remove arsenic and to install replacement pumps at the existing water treatment plant. A sewer extension also will be constructed and the existing storage tank will be repainted to extend its useful life.
