NAWC Names Board of Directors

The announcement was made at NAWC's annual Water Summit held Oct. 5 to 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) announced the organization’s new board of directors at its annual Water Summit held Oct. 5 to 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Walter Lynch, president and COO of regulated operations for American Water, has been named president of the NAWC board of directors. Lynch replaces Dennis Doll, chairman, president and CEO of Middlesex Water Co.

“The breadth and depth of Walter’s experience in the water industry will be an tremendous asset to the organization,” said Michael Deane, executive director, NAWC. “We are fortunate to have such a strong ambassador for the private water industry.”

“Dennis’ leadership was integral to NAWC’s success over this past year and I can’t thank him enough for his dedication to the board and many contributions to both NAWC and the industry as a whole,” Deane said. “All those who serve on our board do so tirelessly and we appreciate their continued service as we strive to keep water moving forward.”

Lynch previously served as president of regulated operations, and assumed his new, expanded role in 2010. He joined American Water Services in 2001 as president of the Southwest region, overseeing a 12-state region with multiple business lines. He has more than 20 years of experience with expertise in engineering, operations, sales and marketing, regulatory compliance and business development.

NAWC also welcomed the following new members to its 2015 board of directors:

  • ·      Robert Nicholson, president, San Gabriel Valley Water Co.
  • ·      Matthew Stanley, president, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Beckley Water Co.

They join the following members returning to NAWC’s board of directors:

  • ·      Jeffrey Hines, president and CEO, York Water Co.
