Two Promotions Announced at Hazen and Sawyer

Hazen and Sawyer, P.C., Environmental Engineers and Scientists, has announced the following changes in its executive-level management: Robert E. Hagadorn, P.E., D.E.E., has been elected to the position of Chairman of the Board, and James W. Fagan, J.D., P.E., has been elected President.

Since 1993, Hagadorn served as President of Hazen and Sawyer, and he has worked at the firm since 1970. Throughout his long career at Hazen and Sawyer, he has directed some of the Northeast Region's largest wastewater treatment projects. Hagadorn holds Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Master's degree in Sanitary Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Iona College in New York. He is a Vice President of the New York Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies and serves on consulting boards at City College of New York and Manhattan College. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association, and Water Environment Federation, and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.

Fagan started his career with Hazen and Sawyer in 1970 and rejoined the firm in 1997 to serve as Vice President/Director of Operations. From 1979-1997, he earned a law degree, served as an environmental management consultant for major accounting firm, and co-founded an environmental management consultancy. In his current role at Hazen and Sawyer, in addition to being responsible for the firm's operation and administration, Fagan is directing some of the largest water projects in the Northeast Region. He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Fagan holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University in New York. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, Water Environment Federation, and New York State Bar Association.
