Badger Meter, a manufacturer of flow measurement and control solutions, announced it has been named a BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts in America honoree for 2016. The award was presented by Americans for the Arts, a nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education.
Presented annually by the Business Committee for the Arts (BCA), a division of Americans for the Arts, the BCA 10 awards honor 10 U.S. companies for their exceptional commitment to the arts through grants, local partnerships, volunteer programs, matching gifts, sponsorships and board membership.
Badger Meter was recognized for its active role in supporting and promoting the arts through volunteer leadership and corporate and employee financial support for organizations including the United Performing Arts Fund in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Museum of Wisconsin Art and the Milwaukee Art Museum. In 2015, Badger Meter employees collaborated with the Present Music Compose Milwaukee project to create a unique and creative piece of music that represented Badger Meter and its history.
“We believe the arts improve our quality of life by offering important education opportunities for our children, boosting our economy and engaging diverse audiences in our local communities. We are honored to receive this national recognition for our role in supporting and promoting the arts,” said Richard A. Meeusen, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Badger Meter.
“We are grateful to honor these businesses for their exceptional involvement in ensuring that the arts thrive in their communities,” said Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts. “They enrich the lives of millions of Americans and truly set a standard for other businesses to follow.”
