AWWA Announces New Edition of Water Loss Control Manual

March 8, 2016
M36 provides information about determining cost of issues such as meter error and theft

The American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) has released a fourth edition of M36 Water Audits and Loss Control Programs.

As water utilities work to mitigate leakage and loss, M36 provides valuable information to help determine the cost of issues such as meter error and theft and how to prevent those issues from occurring.

Included in the new edition is summary data from water audits collected from over 200 utilities, which can help guide utilities in understanding which methods and approaches are being used in the field.

Additionally, M36 was edited specifically so utilities can effectively use it in conjunction with AWWA’s Free Water Audit Software, which can be downloaded directly from AWWA’s website. M36 also outlines a leakage management strategy via the Leakage Component Analysis Model, which is also available on AWWA’s website.

M36 Water Audits and Loss Control Programs, Fourth Edition is available in AWWA’s online store. It is also available as a PDF download and as a PDF download and print set.
