AFS Adds Wastewater/Water Treatment and Filtration to Short Course Offerings

Dr. Wu Chen, chairman of the Education Committee, announced the addition of a full-day advanced course, Wastewater/Water Treatment and Filtration, to the American Filtration & Separations Society's (AFS) Filtration Basics Short Course (FBSC) program.

The full-day course will be taught by industry leaders Steve Constable of DuPont Environmental Engineering Section, Dr. Ernie Mayer of DuPont Delaware and Vince Hamilton of Westech, Inc.

Topics in this full-day course include: classification and selection schemes; setting systems; biological treatment processes and sludge management; heavy metals removal technologies; wastewater dewatering equipment; and testing and water filtration equipment and treatment.

Wastewater/Water Treatment & Filtration and the rest of the AFS FBSC program will be offered in conjunction with the AFS Spring 2006 Conference on Monday, May 9 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. CEUs will be awarded upon completion of the course.
