ZENON Hires Chief Engineer

ZENON Environmental Inc., a manufacturer of membrane technologies for water treatment and reuse, announced the appointment of a new chief engineer.

Ian Crossley will join ZENON's team to head its new product systems development area. The recently created position will enhance ZENON design efficiency and improve existing system cost structure through value engineering.

This new role and focus is in addition to productivity, cost management and efficiency initiatives already undertaken by ZENON management, according to Andrew Benedek, chairman and chief executive officer of ZENON.

"We are fortunate to be at a point in time where our current success allows us to create this new position; a time when it is both a necessary function and an affordable one that will maintain ZENON's growth and competitive position," said Benedek.

Crossley has three decades of experience in developing and applying innovative technologies in the water industry. He will bring to ZENON a comprehensive mix of technical, selling, marketing and business skills along with excellent project and engineering leadership gained across international markets in the water industry.

Crossley was previously with Hazen and Sawyer, a major U.S. environmental engineering consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater treatment. As a Senior Associate and technical specialist for advanced water treatment technologies, he was responsible for new business development and the execution of major design projects throughout the United States.

Prior to this, Crossley worked for notable international water companies such as PWT Projects, Ltd. (now Paterson Candy, Ltd.), PCI Membrane Systems and Portacel, Ltd., all in the U.K. Mr. Crossley holds a B. Sc. (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Leeds University and a Master of Technology in Engineering Design from Loughborough University, both in the U.K.
