WQA Offers New Water Quality Resources at Home

Dec. 28, 2000
In an effort to help consumers learn more about common home water problems and effective treatment options, the Water Quality Association (WQA) introduced the Water Quality Search Engine and Home Water Awareness Kit on its website (www.wqa.org).

The search engine helps consumers identify possible water contaminants based on common symptoms that the user selects to best describe his water. A list of possible contaminants and treatments will be listed. Also, users can learn more about a contaminant's health risk and effects and sources.

The Home Water Awareness Kit includes consumer information and water test strips, allowing home water testing for seven common problems including chlorine, hardness, iron, alkalinity, pH, nitrates and nitrites.
