New research scientist to work in Argonide’s Bio Lab

Argonide Corp. announced the addition of Yuly Vesga as the company’s new research scientist. Vesga was recruited to replace Tatiana Kaledin who, after 10 years with Argonide, will be retiring in March 2017.

Yuly’s main focus will be to manage day-to-day operations of Argonide’s Bio Lab and assist Leonid Kaledin, vice president of research and development, with the development of new technologies.

Vesga joins the Argonide team from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Fla. There, she worked as a graduate research assistant in the chemistry department while earning her Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Vesga has published numerous articles in the scientific community on the topic of two-photon circular dichroism and has received the Chemical Physics Letters Editor’s Choice Award on her article “Two-photon circular dichroism of molecular structures simulating 1-tryptophan residues in proteins with secondary structures.” She also is the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award, UCF, and the Outstanding Chemistry Seminar Award, UCF.
"We are thrilled to welcome Yuly to the Argonide team,” said Kaledin. “She has a strong background and we look for her to provide a valuable contribution as we further develop the product."
