Severn Trent Services Appoints VP of Operations, Operating Services

William Mertes will be based in South Bend, Ind.

Severn Trent Services announced that William (Bill) Mertes has been appointed to the position of vice president of operations, United States Operating Services. In this role, Mertes will be responsible for the entire day-to-day field operations of the United States Operating Services business. Mertes will be based in South Bend, Ind.

The Operating Services business of Severn Trent Services provides a full range of solutions for both public and private sector clients, from the individual aspects of utility operations and management to the provision of integrated water and wastewater services.

Prior to joining Severn Trent Services, Mertes was vice president and general manager of Western Reserve Water Systems. Mertes has a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA in marketing from Northwestern University.

“I'm thrilled to join Severn Trent Services and contribute to the future development of the Operating Services business. My primary goal is to continue to drive growth in our top and bottom line, while maintaining Severn Trent Services’ leadership in the U.S. water and wastewater operations market. I plan to use my past experience to help drive that growth," Mertes said.
