Large-Diameter Piping Technologist Joins Victaulic

Christian Sundberg will be involved in water, wastewater and infrastructure projects

Victaulic, a manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, announced that Christian (Chris) Sundberg has joined the company as a large-diameter piping technologist. Sundberg, a nationally recognized authority on welding and large diameter steel pipelines, will be involved in water, wastewater and infrastructure projects at the company, leveraging his expertise in welding, pipe fabrication, pipeline construction, codes and standards.

“We are thrilled to have Chris join the Victaulic team,” said Jim Renner, vice president at Victaulic. “His proven leadership, strong industry knowledge and technical expertise will support the company’s business objectives and growth in the water, wastewater industry.”

Sundberg serves in leadership positions on national technical committees for the American Water Works Assn. and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a member of the American Welding Society. He is a regular speaker at the ASCE Pipelines Conference and has published numerous technical papers on steel pipe design, fabrication and welding. Sundberg has maintained a Washington State Structural Engineer license since 1981 and Senior Certified Welding Inspector certification since 1999.

Prior to Victaulic, Sundberg spent 37 years as a structural engineering consultant at CH2M Hill, where he specialized in the feasibility, design and construction of heavy civil and structural projects.
