Dewberry Hires Water Resources Market Segment Leader

Stephen Lienhart has more than 38 years of water resources engineering and consulting experience

Dewberry has hired Stephen Lienhart, P.E., as a market segment leader in the water resources group in the firm’s Tampa, Fla., office. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing and technically supporting nationwide projects addressing water supply, storm water, and water quality challenges. His immediate focus will be on total maximum daily load (TMDL) and storm water quality projects in Florida and across the country.

Lienhart has more than 38 years of water resources engineering and consulting experience, with a broad range of experience in water supply, wastewater, reclaimed water engineering, storm water management, and water quality for municipal clients and water management agencies. As a longtime Florida resident, Lienhart has a strong interest in water quality issues in the state and has served on several panels and committees for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, including the TMDL Allocation Technical Advisory committee.

Prior to joining Dewberry, he managed large master plans, storm water modeling projects, facilities master planning and design projects, capital projects and funding programs, and complex regulatory strategies and plans throughout Florida This included projects in Brevard, Collier, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Orange, and Seminole counties. Lienhart has also completed projects in the cities of Clearwater, New Port Richey, Dade City, Pensacola, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Tampa, Tarpon Springs and Titusville. He has worked on projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions as well as overseas in Germany and Saudi Arabia.

Lienhart earned a bachelor’s degree in water resources/civil engineering and a master’s degree in sanitary and environmental engineering from the University of South Florida. He has presented and published more than 120 presentations and articles and is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Resources Association, the Florida Stormwater Assn. and the Florida Floodplain Managers Assn.
