Aclara Names New Head of Marketing, Customer & Sales Support

Robert Florence leads all of the company’s marketing functions & manages customer, technical & educational & sales support

Robert Florence has joined Aclara Technologies LLC as the senior vice president of marketing, customer and sales support. Aclara is a provider of intelligent infrastructure, software and services for the electric, gas and water utilities.

Florence comes to Aclara with a background leading B2B commercial teams globally and will play a role in developing and driving Aclara’s strategy. He leads all of the company’s marketing functions, including business development, product management and marketing communications. Florence also manages customer support, technical and educational support and sales support.

Most recently, he was executive vice president at Davis-Standard LLC, where he led the domestic and global sales and marketing teams. Other positions include vice president of marketing and business development at Solazyme, responsible for developing and commercializing renewable fuels and specialty chemicals.

He worked at Apple Computer, where he led the supply base engineering team in Cupertino, Calif., and Asia. Florence was also an executive at GE with multiple global assignments in the U.S., Mexico and China.

Florence holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
