A 40-year-old Mansfield, Ohio, woman died trying to save her daughter after she fell into a drainage pipe. According to the Mansfield News Journal, Dianna Snyder tried to rescue her daughter after the nine-year-old girl was sucked into a 20-inch culvert and swept away by heavily flowing storm water.

The girl came out with only cuts and bruises about 300 yards from the pipe. Snyder, however, drowned. A flash flood warning had been in effect at the time of the accident, according to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland.

Snyder's death was the first reported after three days of storms that also produced tornadoes in different parts of the state.
