Williams Sisters to Market Oxygen-rich Bottled Water

March 20, 2001

Venus and Serena Williams are switching their focus from winning cups to selling bottles. The tennis-playing sisters are preparing to market the highly oxygenated water they drink during training.

Together with their father Richard, the two tennis stars plan to launch "SerVen Rich" water, which their bottling firm AquaClara says contains 800 percent more oxygen than ordinary water.

``It's the water my daughters, Serena and Venus, rely on during their training,'' Richard Williams said on a new SerVen Rich Web site. ``It offers them the oxygen they need while on the court … Because of our interest in the product's healthy benefits and understanding of athletes needs, we wanted to develop and market our own brand.''
