WEF Announces New Floor Space Record for WEFTEC.08

Sept. 2, 2008
Limited number of booth spaces still available for the October conference

With eight weeks to go before the conference opening, the Water Environment Federation (WEF) proudly announces a new exhibition floor space record for WEFTEC.08, WEF’s 81st annual technical exhibition and conference.

Continuing a four-year growth trend and with limited booth space still available for rent, a current total of 999 companies have already reserved a record-setting 288,525 net sq ft of floor space at McCormick Place in Chicago.

As the largest annual water quality exhibition in the world, WEFTEC provides unparalleled educational and business opportunities for both exhibitors and attendees. “With more than fifteen different water markets represented at WEFTEC, both attendees and decision makers can not only learn about the latest developments in the water and wastewater fields, but can also take this information and technology back to their communities or customers,” said Marc Parsont, WEF’s assistant director of WEFTEC sales. “Whether it’s wastewater, drinking water, storm water or any of the countless water-related areas, it’s guaranteed to be at WEFTEC.”

From a business standpoint, WEFTEC offers the greatest exposure in the water and wastewater fields. Providing access to roughly 16,000 attendees with true buying power, the conference attracts water professionals from more than 60 countries of which 60% attend for the sole purpose of visiting the exhibition floor. In addition, surveys indicate that half of these attendees intend to buy within the next 12 months and spend an average of nine hours on the exhibition floor—20% above the national average. With limited space still available, interested companies are encouraged to contact Marc Parsont ([email protected]) or Sarah Evans ([email protected]) for more information.

To meet the educational needs of attendees, WEFTEC also provides a diverse and comprehensive technical program. Offering the best water quality education and training available in the field, this year’s technical program of 115 technical sessions and 31 workshops is divided into more than 20 technical education focus areas. Designed to be flexible, the program allows attendees to create their own, unique learning experience while earning up to 35 continuing education credits and 9 professional development hours.

WEFTEC.08 will be held Oct. 18 to 22, 2008 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The advanced registration deadline is Sept. 19, 2008 and attendees are encouraged to register early. For the latest conference updates and registration information, visit www.weftec.org.
