Sanitary Sewer Study Assists with New Wastewater Pump Station Design

Sept. 10, 2014
This project is scheduled for completion in December 2014

RJN Group Inc. is conducting a sanitary sewer evaluation study (SSES) to assist McClelland Consulting Eng. with the design of a new wastewater pump station for the city of West Fork, Ark.

The city has experienced wet-weather related overflows into the West Fork of the White River as a result of an aging wastewater treatment plant. The White River watershed serves as the drinking water source for a large portion of Northwest Arkansas.

For the SSES, RJN is performing the following services:

  • · Flow monitoring for 60 days;
  • · Smoke testing 75,000 linear ft of pipe;
  • · Inspecting 300 manholes;
  • · Dyed water flooding; and
  • · Closed circuit TV inspection.

The data collected from the field inspections will be compiled into a report that McClelland can use in aiding the city of West Fork in reducing inflow/infiltration and also to provide the necessary data to properly size the proposed wastewater pump station for both average day conditions and wet-weather conditions.

This project is scheduled for completion in December 2014.
