Village of Greenwich Awards Contract

Aug. 8, 2003

The Village of Greenwich, Ohio, has awarded Underground Solutions, Inc. (UGSI) a contract to rehabilitate a section of a deteriorated 6" water line using the Company's patented Duraliner System. Underground Solutions Service Group, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of UGSI will be performing the work in tandem with the municipal employees of the Village of Greenwich.

Underground Solutions' patented Duraliner Water Line Replacement System allows municipalities to completely rehabilitate deteriorated underground water lines with minimal excavation resulting in a substantial cost savings over conventional "dig and replace" methods.

"We are very excited about this project," stated Mark Smith, Underground Solutions' CEO. "This marks the first time that we will be working right alongside the municipal employees. By providing their valuable knowledge of the system, the general labor and excavating skills municipalities can enjoy tremendous savings on their water line rehabilitation projects."

Duraliner is a unique patented process for pipeline renewal resulting in a "stand alone" structural lining capability that conforms to NSF 61 Standards for Drinking Water Components/Health Effects. Duraliner can handle a wide range of water system operating pressures and provides the capability to restore flow to the original pipe "as new" conditions. In addition, Duraliner provides an equivalent design-life of new PVC pipelines (100 years) thus qualifying the rehabilitated pipe lines to be capitalized as new assets under the rules of GASB Statement 34.
