Three HDR Professionals to Lead AWWA Sections

Employees were elected chairmen of their local sections

Three HDR professionals were named chairmen of their respective sections of the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA). Kevin Bergschneider was named chairman of the Rocky Mountain Section, Al Erickson was named chairman of the South Dakota Section and Ali Mahan was named chairman of the Virginia Section.

Bergschneider, water marketing manager for HDR’s Colorado/Wyoming Water group, is based in HDR’s Denver office and has served as a membership chair and a trustee. He was recognized in 2003 with the section’s annual Lyle D. Herman Distinguished Service Award and has been active at the national level on several membership committees.

Erickson, a senior environmental engineer at HDR’s Sioux Falls, S.D., office, has been a member of AWWA for 27 years and has served on the section’s executive board since 2006. He chaired the public affairs committee from 2006 until he was named chair-elect in 2009. At the national level, Erickson has been active in fundraising activities for the organization and also serves as a technical reviewer for papers presented for publication.

Mahan is the water client manager for HDR’s Norfolk, Va., office. He has been active in his section for more than a decade, serving on various committees. He has served on the section’s board of trustees for the past four years as treasurer for three years and chairman-elect for one year.
