Texas Officials Receive Loan to Aid Wastewater Management

EPA provides $194,000 loan to ensure wastewater treatment complies with governmental regulations

Residents in Goliad, Texas, can now be sure that the city’s wastewater is treated in compliance with federal and state laws. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded officials $194,000 to upgrade and elevate the primary sewer line to provide necessary infrastructure funding that enhances the safety of the wastewater treatment plant.

Wastewater management encompasses a broad range of efforts that promote effective and responsible water use, treatment and disposal. Under the Clean Water Act, EPA officials oversee regulatory and voluntary programs that help manage the nation's wastewater.
