Tallahassee, Fla., officials recently expanded the city’s Environmental Management System Registrations to include Tallahassee’s Divisions of Water Quality, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment Operations. The expansion was certified by the NSF Intl. Strategic Registrations Ltd., located in Ann Arbor, Mich., and saves the city more than $1 million a year. The city’s wastewater treatment system—which comprises the Thomas P. Smith Water Reclamation Facility, the Lake Bradford Road Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Southeast Farm and the Tram Road Reuse—increases Tallahassee’s bond rating from AA to AA+.
