Contract includes the expansion of the March Wastewater Reclamation Facility in Perris, Calif.
Skanska USA Civil's Riverside office has been awarded a $45 million contract from Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) for the expansion of the existing March Wastewater Reclamation Facility in Perris, Calif. The project is included in second quarter bookings for this year.
The expansion will increase the existing facility's capacity from 1 million gal per day (mgd) secondary treatment to 3 mgd tertiary treatment including headworks with screening and grit removal, screened raw sewage lift station expansion, two secondary clarifiers, recycled activated sludge/waste activated sludge and scum pump stations.
The contract also includes the addition of three chlorine contact tanks, two secondary equalization ponds, tertiary influent pump station, mix/floc/splitter structure, three tertiary filters, modification of storage pond, recycled water pump station, dissolved air flotation thickening facilities, two anaerobic digesters, digester gas flare and installation of owner furnished equipment.
Work on structures includes a digester building, DAF/tertiary building, chlorine building modifications and storage, operations building renovation and expansion, switch gear, motor control centers, control and instrumentation and plant SCADA system.
Demolition, landscaping, site piping and grading, startup and initial operation of facilities is also included in the contract. This assignment requires extensive excavation, including rock excavation. The duration of the project is 720 calendar days.
This is the Riverside office’s first award for a water treatment plant.
