Sierra Releases Portable Ultrasonic Flowmeter

Device updated for universal liquid flow measurement applications

This week, Sierra Instruments officials introduced the next generation Innova-Sonic 210i: an updated universal transit-time flowmeter for liquid flow measurement applications.

The flowmeter features a high-powered ultrasonic pulse with improved digital signal processing, thereby enabling the unit to use just one set of transducers over a wide range of pipe sizes. It also includes a new tactile push-button interface with a large digital display for set-up and data collection.

The device comes with a field-configurable 4- to 20-mA current loop analog output, 2GB SD memory card for data logging and a suite of programming menus for data analysis. Totalization functions are standard, including parallel operation of positive, negative and net-flow totalizers.

It also includes clamp-on transducers with magnetic racks—chain straps are included for non-magnetic pipes. An 11 VDC Lithium-ion battery and charger are included. A meter, transducers, mounting rack and coupling compound are packaged in a pelican carrying case for transport.
