Nick Rowe will serve for a term of three years
American Water announced Nick Rowe, senior vice president of American Water’s Central Division, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Assn. He will serve for a term of three years.
In his current role as senior vice president of American Water’s Central Division, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Tennessee, Rowe is responsible for driving performance within the division, establishing consistent best practices and enhancing American Water’s efforts to maintain and build external relationships.
Rowe previously held a similar role as senior vice president of American Water’s Eastern Division, which included the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Prior to that, he was president of Kentucky American Water where he reinforced and strengthened customer, regulatory and local government relationships, drove operational and financial results and was the principal external contact for American Water in Kentucky.
Rowe is involved with various regulatory agencies, civic organizations and professional associations and has held board positions with the Lexington Industrial Foundation, Lexington Chamber of Commerce (past chairman), the Central Bank Advisory Board and the United Way. He also served on the executive board of the Kentucky State Chamber of Commerce. Rowe is also a member of the American Water Works Assn. and the National Assn. of Water Companies.
In July 2007, the Public Relations Society of America’s Thoroughbred Chapter selected Rowe to receive its Communicator of the Year Award. He was selected for his leadership and open communication in the business.
The St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Assn. connects business and civic communities in the 16-county, bi-state region. The chamber membership constitutes 40% of the region's employment base. Businesses of all sizes, non-profits, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare and labor organizations are included in this alliance.
