The SORB 33 arsenic removal technology and Bayoxide E33 arsenic removal media from Severn Trent Services have been selected for use by the city of Goodyear, Ariz., at well site 18B, a 450 gal per minute water treatment facility where total arsenic was measured at 38 ppb.
Currently, well site 18B is being operated at a reduced production level and its water blended with additional sources to lower arsenic levels below the U.S. EPA standard of 10 ppb in drinking water. Once installed, the new treatment system will enable the city to increase water production with arsenic levels below the EPA standard. The contract for Severn Trent Services and Hennessy Mechanical Sales, LLC to design, build and provide maintenance services is valued at $954,724.
The SORB 33 process and technology developed by Severn Trent Services to reduce arsenic contamination has been commercially proven to effectively and economically meet the stringent new government standard across a range of water treatment applications. The media has been permitted for use by health and environmental agencies in 18 states, more than any other arsenic removal technology.
