PPI Sponsors Corrugated Pipe Seminar in Reston, Va

The corrugated division of the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) will sponsor its seminar series in 2005 entitled “Designing and Installing Corrugated High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe for Drainage Applications.”

The first of two seminars this year will be held on July 28, 2005, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Reston, Va. The seminar will be held at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Bechtel Conference Center and will feature industry experts sharing their insight and experience with corrugated HDPE pipe.

The seminars are designed to educate specifers, design engineers and those working with drainage pipe products for sanitary sewer, storm drain or culvert applications on the benefits of corrugated HDPE pipe. Participants will receive 0.7 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s).

Topics for the 2005 seminars include:

- Evolution of HDPE pipe and materials;

- Overview of HDPE material properties ;

- Hydraulic design of pipelines;

- Structural considerations ;

- Installation ; and

- Life Cycle Costs.
