Pennsylvania Brewery to Build $7M Wastewater Treatment Plant

City Brewery in Latrobe, Pa., has announced plans to spend over US$7 million to build a new on-site wastewater treatment facility. The brewery was formerly known as the Latrobe Brewing Co. plant.

City Brewery is based in Lacrosse, Wis., and is brewing Samuel Adams Boston Lager beer for Boston Beer Co. under a contract that runs through 2011.

According to Pittsburgh Tribune-ReviewCity Brewing said an on-site treatment facility will allow the brewery to operate at maximum capacity, without affecting the municipal wastewater treatment plant. City Brewing has estimated that construction will take about two years.
