Metroplex Industries Changes Name and Expands

Metroplex Industries is changing its name and brand identity to MetroplexCore.

Since 1990 the company has provided engineering and consulting services to public and private sector organizations focusing on environmental, solid waste, water, wastewater, and project and construction management services. Recently Metroplex has broadened its service capabilities to meet the needs of the market better in the automotive, defense, industrial, and municipal arenas.

"In the past 18 months our organization has experienced tremendous growth," explained CEO Willard L. Jackson Jr., "and the market landscape has opened up new opportunities that made sense for us to pursue. With all of this activity, we have created a single corporate entity to umbrella all of our business interests, and we have established three new professional service units: the Operating Group, the Industrial Services Group, and the Engineering and Consulting Group.

"This move," he continued, "will expand our capabilities from a regional, traditional engineering practice to a multi-industry, national environmental and industrial service provider. Additionally our alliances and partnerships allow us to provide a larger scope of service solutions to meet market needs on a global basis."

The company’s new name and brand identity better reflect its story, services, diversity, and national presence. The logo is contemporary and also includes is its tagline.

"Building our brand is not just about a logo," Jackson said. "It will be an integral part of our internal culture, organization, and external marketing /communications."

MetroplexCore is planning an aggressive messaging initiative to its service markets, stakeholders, and employees. This will include building and vehicle signage, uniforms, publications, Web sites, events, and collateral.

MetroplexCore is a Houston-based, minority-owned environmental and industrial services company. It has offices throughout the US and employs 90 people.

The company is a Minority Business Enterprise Partner with Baytown, Texas-based Onyx Industrial Services, an integrated provider of industrial cleaning, maintenance, and waste management services to the automotive, chemical, power, refining, and other market sectors. It maintains industrial service operations in more than 50 locations in North America. Additionally MetroplexCore has an alliance with Houston, Texas-based Veolia Water North America. Currently Veolia Water North America Operating Services, Inc. (formerly US Filter Operating Services) partners with more than 600 communities and hundreds of corporations to provide comprehensive water and wastewater services to municipal and industrial customers including engineering, construction, operations, and waste recovery. Both Onyx Industrial Services and Veolia Water North America are subsidiaries of Veolia Environment, a global provider of environmental services.
