Metito set to join global compact community

Oct. 25, 2005

AMEInfo reported that today, Metito joins a number of highly internationally recognized companies worldwide together with UN agencies, labour and civil society groups to promote responsible corporate citizenship so that business can be a part of the solution to the challenges of globalization.

A growing number of businesses are fast realizing that by being actively engaged in environmental issues, the overall business result of doing so strengthens their operations. To achieve these objectives, the Global Compact offers facilitation and engagement through several mechanisms: Policy Dialogues, Learning, Country/Regional Networks, and Projects. Global Compact relies on public accountability, transparency and the enlightened self-interest of companies, labour and civil society to initiate and share substantive action in pursuing the principles upon which the Global Compact is based.
