Lou Holtz to Speak at AWWA Conference

Legendary football coach Lou Holtz will share his unique brand of motivation with water professionals during the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE) at the Orlando County Convention Center in Florida.

Holtz, currently head coach at the University of South Carolina, will speak at the noon Water Industry Luncheon on Tuesday, June 15. ACE, June 13-17, is the world’s premier water event with up to 14,000 attendees expected.

Coach Holtz has established himself as one of the most successful college football coaches of all time. He is the only coach in history to take six different teams to bowl games, win five bowl games with different teams, and have four Top 20-ranked teams. During his 26 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Coach Holtz has earned a reputation for helping teams defeat highly ranked opponents, elevating their level of play and turning them into contenders. He was named 1998’s Man of the Year by the Walter Camp Football Foundation for his leadership and success as a collegiate football coach.

Coach Holtz has built a reputation as a motivator and someone who relishes challenges and hard work. Considered among the greatest speaking legends, he has authored several best-selling books and produced three highly acclaimed motivational videos. He also serves as a spokesperson for United States Filter, a global provider of water treatment. Coach Holtz will speak on overcoming seemingly impossible challenges by setting goals and working to achieve them.

A graduate of Kent State with a master’s degree from Iowa, Coach Holtz lives in Orlando with his wife, Beth Barcus, and their four children.
