Leading Water Purification Company to Expand in Pennsylvania

Ionics Inc. will expand its Pennsylvania facilities in Bridgeville, Allegheny County, and Canonsburg -- creating 60 new jobs and retaining 120 existing jobs. The company plans to add a 4,500-square-foot third floor to the Bridgeville facility and lease an additional 100,000 square feet in Canonsburg for heavy steel manufacturing. The 40-year-old global separations technology company owns and operates services for the purification, disinfection, concentration, desalination, treatment, and analysis of water, wastewater and ultrapure water. The Governor's Action Team -- economic-development professionals who report directly to Ridge -- worked with Ionics Inc. to make this expansion a reality.
