IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition

The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2016 taking place in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, will cover five program themes: Cities, Utilities and Industries Leading Change; Re-Charting the Course of Water Resources; Enabling Progress with Good Governance, Sustainable Finance and ICT; Water Quality, Safety and Human Health and Water and Wastewater Processes and Treatments. Members of the Program Committee are 19 world-famous water professionals.

Keynote Speakers and Plenary Sessions

Agenda setting thought leadership from the most prominent figures within the water sector and beyond. Keynote speakers are the top specialists in their field and will provide the overarching narrative for the congress. Keynotes and supporting panels will frame the key discussions and topics that will be addressed during the week of the congress.

Keynote speakers in at the 2014 Congress in Lisbon included Hans Rosling of the Gapminder Foundation, Sue Murphy of Water Corporation of Western Australia and Jorge Moreira da Silva Portuguese Minister for Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy. One of the plenary sessions in Brisbane will be held as an “Oxford Debate” for and against Direct Potable Reuse. Keynotes will be announced in early 2016.

Water Scarcity and Drought Summit

The Water Scarcity and Drought Summit co-organized in partnership with the Australian Water Partnership (AWP) will be a high-level meeting bringing together a carefully selected group of around 100 stakeholders—politicians, water professionals, business leaders, academics, economists—to focus on cooperation and solutions that work.

Leadership Forums

The Congress includes a number of important forums that will connect you to the science and industry leaders. This is an opportunity to get an in-depth understanding of current trends, latest research, guiding strategies and leading practice.

Networking

The World Water Congress & Exhibition is a unique opportunity to network with the world’s best water professionals. Join selected opportunities to engage with specific communities of the IWA network.
