ITT to Build Desal Plant in Middle East

Oct. 20, 2004

ITT Industries recently announced that its advanced process separation unit Aquious has been awarded a contract to build a 30 mgd reverse osmosis desalination plant in the Middle East.

To meet the ever-growing demand for water in the region, local authorities approved the plan for implementation of this project and Aquious has been issued the contract from a local engineer. Aquious will design, manufacture, supply and install all products for the new desalination plant.

The plant will take its water from the Arabian Gulf and will turn seawater into water for municipal use including drinking water. The contract includes a seawater intake pumping station, a complete pretreatment system, an RO system and post treatment system.
