ISO Compliance for HWM Companies

June 5, 2007

Palmer Environmental and Radcom Technologies of the Halma Water Management group have been certificated to acknowledge their compliance with various ISO standards.

Palmer’s Environmental and Quality Management Systems have been independently assessed and found compliant with the requirements of BS EN ISO 140001:2004 and BS EN ISO 9001:2000 respectively, for the design, development and manufacture of detection and measuring devices for underground pipework. Radcom also holds ISO 9001:2000 certification from BSI for the design and manufacture of data logging equipment including provision for service and repair, and as an extension has additionally gained authorization by BASEEFA under EN13980 to manufacture ATEX products for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, with their ultrasonic level sensors currently certified as 'Intrinsically Safe, EEx ia'.

Certification to ISO standards assures that a certain quality of practice is in place and employed in various systems of procedural improvement. ISO 9000 concerns quality control, while ISO 14000 refers to environmental impact. Both certifications require not just a certain standard to be achieved, but a process of continual development and enhancement to be implemented, in order to encourage systematic and evolving levels of quality.
