  • Arsenic Removal

Filtronics Electromedia I solution for the removal of arsenic, iron, manganese and other metals from drinking water addresses the global need for environmentally friendly systems. Our custom-designed EM-I systems have less impact on the environment than other treatment methods for several reasons. They require the smallest footprint in the industry, have the advantage of being designed with the capability of expansion, include an option for reclaiming up to 99.9% of the backwash water, use substantially less chemicals than are generally required for treatment and produce no hazardous waste, while still producing potable water cleaner and purer than required by stringent EPA regulations. All Filtronics systems are compliant with ANSI 60 and ANSI 61 purity standards.

    Treatment Systems

Electromedia I systems consistently provide reductions in arsenic concentrations well below federal requirements. Filtronics’ treatment systems are recognized as the most cost-effective arsenic removal process available with automated operations, backwash to filtration rates less than 2% and arsenic concentration reduced to less than half the allowable maximum contaminant level. Permanent media, low chemical costs, remote access support, no hazardous waste, a short 4-minute backwash requirement and the smallest footprint in the industry are a few of the environmentally friendly features in each custom designed system. Each system is pilot-tested to achieve optimal design and cost-effectiveness.
