Illinois AWWA Urges Bill Stoppage

May 15, 2003

Illinois HB3402, the takeover of the DuPage Water Commission, is out of committee and is on second reading in the senate. The Illinois Section of AWWA believes this bill must be stopped.

"Even if you have written a letter previously opposing this bill, it is important that you call your Senator's office in Springfield to ask him/her to oppose the passage of this bill. Please also consider asking your Mayor or City Managers to call," urges a notice sent to members today.

"Final passage is scheduled by Friday so it is imperative that phone calls be made today and tomorrow ? Although it starts with DuPage County it has implications state-wide," the notice continues.

Please call the Illinois Section AWWA Legislative Liaison Maureen Mulhull on her cellphone at 217-638-8175 to let her know what feedback you are receiving when making your calls.
